The Long Story
“LyLa” in the business name “The LyLa Look” comes from the first 2 letters of my first name Lydia, and the first 2 letters of the first name of my very best friend Laura.
My jewelry making path was as unpaved and unplanned as my 30+ years in information technology (IT). Creating jewelry began when I desperately needed a calm distraction from worrying about my mom’s failing health while balancing an intense full-time IT career. During this time, Laura lovingly, and compassionately suggested we take a jewelry making class in a local bead shop in southern California. We did. It was so fun, and so, my love of creating jewelry began. My passion was seeded from a simply strung bracelet to much more complex and intricate pieces you can find on my website and social media outlets today.
Laura, and creating jewelry (only because of her suggestion) saved my heart, mind, and soul. I am forever grateful beyond words for Laura and her unwavering love, loyalty, and support from the very beginning of my jewelry journey. Creating jewelry began as a calming and emotional outlet for me and has since blossomed into a small business filled with love and passion that I often actually dream about!
